Diversity of the Students' Population

It is very important to know the diversity of the students', because many adults are retuning to college and their needs are different from the younger college students.

Hi Marcia,
This has been my experience as well. I really enjoy the input from my career mature students and their perspectives on life.
Gary

I find the diversity of the student population refreshing. I find that students with more life experience bring a maturity to the classroom. In my experience, these students are less afraid to raise questions and are more invested in making sure they get what they paid for -- an education.

Yes, it is true that diversity not only means cultural and ethnic background but age and socioeconomic status too. I beleive is our duty as instructors to help students learn about its meaning and encourage them to embrace it.

I agree. We often think of diversity as the ethnic background of a person but it also includes age and profession.
