Hi Ryan,
I agree with you. If you are excited and your students know you have their best interest in mind they will respect your efforts. This is why instructors should continue to try new things in their courses and even when they don't go as planned the students will be supportive due to their caring.

I believe that if the instructor shows that he or she is enthusiastic about learning that rubs off on the student. Example: If an instructor tries a new technique, successfull or not, the passion and inovation is passed to the student.

I agree with your reply and I think the instructor should show that enthusiasm on a daily basis and encourage students to have the same outlook

I agree that enthusiasm on the instructor's part plays a big role in motivating students. It is a normal human inclination to come to class with a less than stellar attitude for a number of students. I've found that my enthusiasm has rubbed off on my students. I have received feedback telling me this is true.
