Focusing on class. Many adult learners find it hard to focus on class. Life issues such as money, family, and career change can take away from learning. What are some of the ways to keep them on task?
You can however also endeavor to show the students how the subject they are learning is an escape however brief from their troubles. Putting your external issues in a box and filing it away while completing the task at hand is also a valuable skill.

By using activities that enable them to use their newly acquired knowledge and/or skills. This way they see the connection between classroom and real world. This helps them to see their future and in doing so they stay on task longer.
