Lesson Plan Resources
As a new instructor I am very concerned about developing my subject matter. I have little mentoring availableto me and have stepped into the job mid semester. I am looking for resources to help me in learning how to better prepare my course information. In reading these posts I was delighted to learn about ACTEonline and am wondering if there are more such sites regarding lesson plans, etc?
Have you done a search online? I found a plethora of information on different websites specific to my topic (psychology) which has been invaluable. Also, most of the textbooks have resources online with tons of information, lecture launchers and ideas. I don't know if this helps or you have already explored these ideas and need different ones!

Hi Lori,
There are many different websites that you can look at giving you tips and techniques for teaching. Many of them are put out by community colleges because they use many people coming from the field to be teachers just like the career colleges. So the help they offer is very targeted and will help you a lot. Also, we here at MaxKnowledge have 6 courses that are designed to help new instructors like yourself.
Since you are in ED 101 you are getting some basic information that should help you to be successful in the classroom while you are developing your instructional skills as well as learning more about how to be an effective instructor.

Welcome to the profession of teaching. With your dedication to learning all that you can on how to be an effective teacher I know you are going to do well. There are a number of websites that talk about lesson plan development. The ones I have looked beside ACTEonline (a good source I might add)are from the community college community. With a little searching you will find community college sites that walk you through the steps of lesson planning. They are designed to help their new instructors to get off to a good start in teaching.
