Team Teaching
Have you ever teamed up with another instructor? My recent experience has been better than I expected. Although my co-instructor has a very different style than my own, we seem to bolster one another. Where I am weak, she seems quite talented. I have learned a lot about bringing story telling and humor into the class from her and I hope that she has benefitted from our association also.
Hi Lisa,
I share your excitement about team teaching. At different times I have had the opportunity to teach teach with some very dynamic instructors. Not only was the course fun to teach the students benefited from double the experience base.

I love the idea of team teaching, and although I have not participated in team teaching myself, I have witnessed other instructors "feed" off of one another. As you mention, strengths are shared between two instructors, for example, and it is a great way for students to experience how well their instructors are able to work together and how they can model the same type of behavior. Team teaching that is well developed can make for a very rewarding educational experience for students.
Hi Leslie,
Team or co-teaching is a great way to bring variety into a classroom. As you say each of you brings their own style to class and that way you can balance each other as you teach. Also, the students get to see how a good social dynamic can be created by working with each other as evidenced by how the teaching teams gets along.

When having to work with another co-worker or an Instructor it has to be a team effort. We have to be together on every issue. Not saying that we will agree on every issue, but we will work on them together as professionals.
