Instructional
It is very important to be professional in all aspects of your persona as an instructor. Be the person you want your students to look up to, take directions from and mirror.
Karla, that is the most rewarding part about teaching: the positive feedback and the lives changed. I love some of the enthusiastic evals; one even wanted to become an English major after a lit class.
I agree. Professionalism in the classroom ultimatey translates to professionalism in the workplace. We are preparing students to be professional and better or new business owners, managers, and employees. I have had a number of students contact me after taking my class to inform me that they were able to apply the knowledge they learned from the course, in particular, how to effectively interact with others in the workplace.
