What does it take to be a professional teacher

What experiences can you share to a new teacher to help prevent bad decisions?

Knowing when to be flexible is a part of being a professional teacher. Every class is different and it helps to be able to change the delivery of the subject while maintaining the core elements of what needs to be learned.

Hi Alan,
Great way to handle such a situation. This keeps the class moving forward and lets the students know you are human as well as knowing that you will work to find the answer for them by the next class meeting.

If you make a mistake admit it and move on never dwell on it

Hi Joe,
This is a tough question to answer because the response involves a number of variables. By being prepared, organized and confident in your abilities you will reduce the chances of making bad decisions in the classroom.
You will make mistakes we all do. So don't worry about the mistakes, learn from them and keep your focus forward and you will fine as an instructor.
