I like this I'm going to try it today!

DEBORAH,
It is critical to do this for your students. This way they will be receiving the latest content which in turn will help them to be well prepared when they enter their profession.

As a Nursing Instructor, it is valuable to stay informed regarding any changes in practice or the introduction of new therapeutic interventions in order that the novice practitioner aims at a positive impact on patient care.

I can learn different learning styles of students so that I can be sure my material is reaching each student separately.

Corean,
I think you will like the results you get from this method. I wish you much success with it.

I have been using the power-points along with the book with success and demonstration. However, I really like the idea of having them read the power points and having them explain them for more interaction. I am going to try this as well.

SANDRA,
Can you expand on this as it relates to your instructional style verses instructional delivery? Thanks.

Quinn,
Good plan. Both will help you to expand your instructional expertise and grow as a professional educator.

I intend to continue to ask for student feedback. Also I plan to attend some continuing education.

Michael,
When you are observing you are learning. I like your approach and I know it pays off in more engaged students and enhanced learning.

Observation has always been a key component to my style of instruction. Not only will I observe peer instructors, but the students the moment I meet them. I always take time in the beginning to "break the ice" and get a feel for my audience then I will adapt to who they are as individuals and as a group.

James,
I agree. This way you get to observe different approaches and then you can select which one to follow or adapt to your instructional style.

Shadowing peer instructors is a great way to further develop your instructional style.

I am going to try to incorporate the Poll Everywhere into my lectures. I feel that this will be a good style for the student population that I will be teaching.

Paul,
This is a good method to use as the movement of the eyes and head has been shown to help students to focus and then refocus their attention as they follow you throughout the learning environment.

Briana,
Good ways to expand your knowledge as a professional educator as well as share the strategies that work well for you. This is a win win situation for everyone.

I like to move around the room speaking to all but also speaking closer to each and every student in the room. This keeps them focused on me (and hopefully the subject matter) and prevents outside distractions.

Discussing with other instructors what methods they use and what they have seen in the past benefit the students. Try different methods and see what works best.
