role model
I am Medical Assistant program instructor and i am trying my best to be arule model of my student. I am so happy that some of my students told me that i am there role model. For me to be empathy is important. If we have a student with bad attitude we should know the resen for that, because with bad attitude student there must be some factors for that. So being empathy is important.

Sounds like a great approach to getting the students settled into the course and ready to learn. You are right about the respect aspect of being successful with students.

I teach psychology to adults at night. I have also created mutal respect among many of my students, while having to deal with those who are less interested in the course. I always tell my class respect works two ways. Even though many of us have problems and unforseen circumstances, still does not relieve students from being repsectful. I am always avaialable to speak with students to discuss individual issues. This seems to build a rapport with many more students.
