How to motivate students
I find it helpful to motivate students by showing that I'm excited by the subject matter and encouraging them to participate in class discussions.
I feel the same way if I am excited about what I am teaching then my students are too. When I teach pharmacology I need to go over math. Of course the groans start just with the mention and I can feel the anxiety go up. I laugh and tell them all to take a deep breath and clear their minds because we are going to laugh at how easy this is going to be. They trust me but have that "sure" look. Soon they are calling out answers!
I'm always on time and I find that my attitude sets the tone in my classroom. My students seem eager to learn and have become quite positive about what they are doing. i have had thes students for the past 7 months and I have seen a high level of motivation!
by me being in class on time and prepared helps motivate students to want to be there in class and getting all they can from the subject matter!
