Teaching Styles
As an experienced instructor, it is evident that not all students perceive information the same. I choose to utilize various teaching styles depending on the course that I am teaching at that particular time. As a Business/Accounting instructor, I must ensure that the teaching style is conducive to the students gaining knowledge of the subject matter in which I am teaching.
Joyce,
It is so nice to hear that you are a seasoned instructor and understand the need for change when it comes to your instruction with students. Having been in many different types of classrooms and grade levels there is nothing that I value more than an teacher or should I say an instructor willing to stop the way they are teaching something and start over with a different approach. I can remember the first time my best laid plans did not meet the outcome that I had hoped to achieve with my students and felt as though I had failed. My pricipal at the time told me that accepting that something is not working in your delivery or instruction is not a failure but a opportunity to try something different. A learning opportunity for me and a teaching opportunity for my students. They taught me to be flexible and on my toes to be able to recognize the learning styles in my classroom.
Joyce,
Very true in terms of instructional style. You must be able to adapt to your students as they move through their program. This is what customizing instruction is about.

As an seasoned instructor, I have come to realize the value of change. I must be willing to meet my students where they are moment by moment. As a Massage instructor, I see the students are trying to be some thing they have never been. So they have to do some things they have never done, and that looks diffrent to each person. I feel that my teaching styles must change in order for students to succeed.
One size does not fit All or Most.
Demelece,
This approach is so important because it targets the learning preferences of students. They can see how they can acquire the content in a way that has meaning and value to them.
