Strategies

It is important to have instructional stategies and be prepared to adjust depending on your students learning styles. This will help both you and your students.

Melissa,
You make a very good point about providing variety in your instructional delivery. This keeps the students engaged and focused on the content. Also, this variety helps to keep us interested especially if it is a course we have taught many times before.

Learning to instruct a lesson in mulitple ways can not only benefit your students but help you grow as an instructor. Everyone has a different process in which they take in information store it and use it. Being able to change up your lesson plans may just hit certain students the right way. Also talking to students to get feed back in the way of did you like the new way i had set up the lesson plan. Asking hem why or why not. It really helps adjust each class because again i can't stress this enought but everyone is different.

Mike,
Glad to hear about the help that you are getting from the module. You are right about the intrusion that technology is making into our classrooms and labs. While technology is great it can be tough to manage in a learning environment.

I find that being adaptable is necessary, especially when students have so many distractions at hand. With the penetration of smart phones in to our everyday lives, text messages and Facebook are at the students' fingertips. Keeping them off of Facebook and on to my lesson is the biggest problem I'm facing in my classes right now. I've learned some great things from this module so far, so I'm looking forward to trying them.

Lacy,
This is a good point because as we know each class is different so we need to adjust our delivery to meet the needs of the current enrollees.
