Instructional Style

I like to engage the students in the Instructional Style of teaching and have them get into groups, when I review for a test. Students seems to like this way of teaching because they are involved in the learning process.

Rose Anne,
Having this information will be very helpful as you plan your instructional delivery and student support.

I realized after reading this section that it is important to know the college and types of students in order to present yourself and subject matter in a certain instructional style.

Jelitza,
Good way to show what is going to be covered in the tests. For those that did not learn what they needed to it reminds them that they have a lot of ground to cover if they are going to be successful on the upcoming quizzes.

I teach some courses that are application based, so the way I review is I give them examples of questions like the ones on the midterm or final, and they seem to gain confidence when I do this. However, the students who have not learned what they needed to learn may be the one who do not see the connection between the sample questions and the actual questions.

I too have participated in the Instructional Style of teaching and it has been very affective when reviewing a difficult topic.

Silena,
Yes they do and this type of activity spreads out the participation level to all students. Each can contribute to the discussions and group interactions.
