Watch yourself.
One of the best tools I have found is video recording myself. I like this tool because it makes me more aware of my strengths and weaknesses. I personally feel that I am able to present some of the information differently to a broader student demographic, and have seen higher completion rates. Remember this tool is only as good as it's critic, and that's YOU!
Frantz,
This is a very helpful way to refine your delivery methods. The hard part is watching yourself because you will see yourself as you are and that can sometimes being distressing since you don't realize you are doing or saying some of the things you do. I will say though that a few recorded sessions will do much to give you focus with your presentations.

It's been suggested to me that I video record myself teaching. It had never occurred to me. I believe it will show some delivery weaknesses and strengths that i can learn from. I wonder if it's a good idea to ask other colleagues to watch and comment.
Billy,
You will get a very candid assessment of yourself and then you can build on your strengths and correct those areas that jump out to you. This is a win win situation for instructional delivery.

I have been watching video of myself for bettering myself during sporting events. I have never thought to use this as an educator. This will be a use full tool.
William,
Good advice for other instructors to follow. This is a powerful tool because it presents an individual as he or she is. Then that individual can decide how to make change, adjustments or improvements that will make him or her a more effective and efficient instructor.
