meeting new students
The first day of class we set up a table and lay out there Id's and greet each student to make sure they fell welcome.

Gets everyone off to a good start. Knowing they are welcome in the class goes a long way in helping students to get settled into the course and looking forward to the sessions ahead.

That is a great way to meet new students and make them feel welcome to class,a hand shake is always good as well
sounds like a great idea think that the first day should only be for new students the returning students should come back a day latter so new students don't fell overwhelmed.
