Instructing with enthusiasm
My students respond better with enthusiasm. They feel more apt to give me input.
Alecia,
I am sure it does. We need to bring our passion and enthusiasm to class each time it meets. To do less is to be unfair to our students and our profession.

I believe students can truly be inspired with instructors who give it their best everyday. I always let my students know I'm giving 100% every day I'm in the classroom and I think it challenges them to do so as well.
Stuart,
Passion for one's field and enthusiasm for teaching about it goes a long way in engaging students. Both of these elements are catching if we bring them each time we step into the classroom or lab.

I've noticed through the years that students comment on surveys and faculty evaluations about their professors' enthusiasm and passion for the subject. Whether or not students like the course subject, they tend to feel they received value from the course if the professor is passionate and fully engaged.
Mary,
Passion for one's field and enthusiasm for teaching about it goes a long way in getting students engaged and excited about what is being taught. Keep up the energy level!
