Instructors personal motivation
Sad when an institution does't meet your expectations as far as benefits and yearly raises, this teaching job comes from the heart, all the times....
I agree it is sad when an institution doesn't meet your expectation in regards to benefits and yearly raises. That forces us to have to move on in many cases so we don't have to live paycheck to paycheck at this point in our lives. Being an instructor is very rewarding, but at some point turnover of the faculty needs to be addressed by making it fair for everyone involved. If an instructor feels like they are being fairly compensated and are seeing the rewards by their students reaching their goals; an instructor would probably be more likely to stay in that position for a long time and not have to follow money.
Richard,
These are great rewards that come from teaching and they are why I am still in this career after all these years. Still fun and most rewarding.

yes I agree, but for me it's not about the money, I got into teaching because I love what i do and wanted to char it with others and guide them along into a great profuession, I love seeing their faces glow when they start to understand the asspecks of my industry
Nicolas,
Unfortunately this is true in so many situations. Thus most of us are in the teaching profession as a result of our desire to help prepare the next generation to enter our field.
