How do you balance the needs of older students with that of younger students? Older adults want the information and examples of how to use it in a practical manner, the younger students just want to know the "stuff" for the quiz/exams.
Gary, Brilliant! This was used successfully in courses I took at USC in policy, planning and development. I cannot even imagine all of the ways this method encourages learners to think and behave.

Great question. I have found an effective way for me to find the balance is to mix the two groups into working units. As I share course content I have the students work on different case studies or problems. I have found that by mixing the two groups I get balance from each of the working units. I change the units around when I introduce a new topic so all students get to work with each other. This keeps any one student from dominating any one unit.
