Back in Highschool?
Often times it feels like I'm back in highschool, but looking through from the other side of the glass. I see what my mistakes were, but the only problem is that I'm dealing with adults twice my age in most cases.
At this time the most stressful professional skills is have is keeping up with technology. I have my certifications in MOUS and have taught computer software but at this time I am at a stand still in moving forward in my own education.
What professionalism skills are you stressing most frequently? Are these based on direct feedback from your industry?
You have got to remember that in some cases the parents or spouse have sent this person to you to do what they cannot. We try to get our students to looks at their training as a three part package. Part one is the skills and info in the lesson material and lab projects. Part two is the professionalism skills needed to walk, talk and act the part the employer wants. Part three is the people skill needed to get along with people to keep the job after they get it.
Hi Raven,
Why does it feel as though you are back in high school? Do you mean teaching high school students? Are you referring to the students' knowledge base, their attitudes, or both?
