keeping on top of emerging needs or situations

A while back I got into the habit of carrying around a small 3X5 memo book in my front shirt pocket. It has been a life saver for me, I can very quickly write down important information I do not want to forget like a question a student asked that I need to find an answer to. It is also useful for keeping track of supplies and errands I need to run during a trip outside the class (I hate going back to a place I just came back from because I forgot something). The memo book has helped increase my overall efficiency at work.

Ulises, didn't I introduce you to carrying a notepad LOL. I have to agree with you about it's benefits, having it with me at all times has prevented me from missing deadlines or "just dropping the ball"

That is a great idea Ulises. I find that I only remember half of the things that I needed to do at work and half of the things that I needed to do in my homelife. I never seem to be able to keep track of them until I am at the opposite place. I'm going to give carrying around the memo card a try. I hope this will help at work as well as home.

I have and use the same thing. It also helps me to see that I've meet the students and my goals. For the little pat on the back that keeps me going.

I to write everything down it helps me not forget anything of importance.

the best way to keep on top is to never slip down... the only problem with that last statement is that we are all human and we all have "off" days. you carry a 3x5 memo book, i carry a 8 1/2x 11 yellow notepad. when i have an off day it turns into a writing frenzy. lol. but fortunately, i dont have those days very often. and fortunately a lot of what i have to do outside of class is now a routine... checking supplies, testing machinery, doing everything in a mental checklist everyday and making the necessary adjustments before the next class session

Do not wait until the last minute to meet deadlines. It can be extremely stressful.
