Safety

How would you deal with students that think safety is a funny topic?. In my career field ive seen several accidents and a few deaths, I want them to have an understanding of safety without it being a joke, or scaring them. I have found a pretty good system, But a person always has room for another perspective.

I think besides the personal price we pay for carelessness, also the cost to equipment and expensive parts have to be factored into the equation. Stupidity can cause all this and being remoresful won't replace fingers and hands.

Everyone in the insustry has to be serious about safty,if it is not taken seriously it will end up hurting everyone because of the legistlation and laws that will result!

Safety is obviously a very important topic. When discussing the issue, it's good to make the topic enjoyable to listen about. Trying to scare them in to being safe will not work. While they shouldn't think it funny, it can still be fun to learn about.

I to have seen some not so pleasant accidents in my career. Now, being an Instructor and seeing the pain these types of accidents have causeed I tend to expand on safty with the class as often as I can (DAILY).
DANNY

Ask them if they have a reason to go home each night, A Mother Father Wife or Kids, Make it personal

accidents in my field generally occur when an individual is distracted or there is a lack of focus. The majority of the time it is the individuals own fault due to lack of concentration.

When you have worked in the field you see lots. I have had students at times draw some of the results that can happen and then post them on the wall for viewing amy times. I do stress we have done things or seen the results and we do not want you to feel the pain if you have it happen and want to spair the pain.
