Carefull and timely preperation takes the stress out of teaching. Less stress for a well prepared instructor and less stress for students in his/her class.

In addition by having a well planned session you have more freedom to have discussion because you know you are right on target with your content and the class is progressing at the pace it needs to.

yes - a well planned session allows for spontaneous discussion and expansion of some activity elements
Careful preparation can also allow the instructor to alter the timing of the lesson in-flight and allow for some teaching flexibility without sacrificing content.
I agree this is very important.It teaching mode much easier.
It is certainly less stress for the teacher to allow enough time to prepare for a lecture. Confidence results from clarifying all personal inquiries that arise in preparation.
