I agree a limited number of training aids(or mock-ups) in the classroom help. However, I have instructed in classrooms that seemed to be overstocked with used parts...so a balance is equally important.

This is true especially when you are teaching a class that the students have no experience in.

I agree. We have a massive amount of "pass arounds" in the classrooms. It makes the course easier to teach. The other thing we have in our courses are engines mounted on engine stands. A couple are set up for CLT and a couple set up for compression tests. These are excellent for instructor demo of these things, but also for demonstrating location and function of sensors, actuators and other components. Works great.
