BEING PREPARED

IF YOUR NOT READY THE CLASS WILL FIGURE IT OUT AND EAT YOU ALIVE

Hi Sweet,
Well said. Every successful endeavor begins with good preparation. An instructor can never be over prepared because a class session can take an unusual turn very quickly and require that you be able to change with the change. Being prepared enables you to do that.

Being prepared builds up self confidence, and the most important part is the steps taken to be one.
It motivates you to equip yourself with the necessary knowledge needed to impart to the students based on the lesson you have set for the day. It allows you to be thorough on the subject matter to know answers to student's questions as well as questions that you need to ask students. It will make you a knowledgeable and effective instructor.

Most of the students are expecting something good from their teachers.
We as teachers must deliver good information to this students by preparing our learning material before starting classes.

It is amazing how transparent not being fully prepared (or distracted) can be picked up by students. There are times when everyone has something happen in their lives that causes plans to change. I believe that being honest and telling the class why something is changing or not quite what was expected can be beneficial.

As always, we must do the best that circumstances allow. Telling them what will be done to compensate for a short coming is also wise.

Being prepaired is not only very important for the instructor, but sets an example for the student.

You will be able to answer any question that might come up during the class.

I have always arrived early so as to have training aids and hand-outs ready for the students. I think this is more comforting for the students.

Being prepared for each class is the key to a successful student/instructor encounter. As stated by all of you, the time taken to get the materials and instructional aids together saves time during the presentation.
Preparation involves organization and good timing. Students are eagar to gain knowledge, but if you come across a unprepared, you are saying you don't care about yourself or the students.
In addition, I think that until you are very good at presenting, you must practice and anticipate interruptions, malfunctioning equipment or the unexpected. Preparation involves always having a back-up plan.

Not being prepared for class can give an appearance of not knowing the material, even if no one knows it better. If the students think you don't know the material, how credible is any of the instruction you will be giving? Also, how long will it take you to recover that credibility and respect? Probably a lot longer than it would have taken to prepare for that one class...

To add it all up, your showing the professionalism that the industry needs the students to have stitched in thier work ethic.

Being prepared is the most importent part of lesson plan. If you are not prepared to teach. It is impossible to take controll of class from the begining. From that point on it is down hill all the way.

A good Instructor should always be prepared prior to facing the class , this will demonstrate confidence that the student can learn from the instructor . It can enhance the learning experience of the student and get their money's worth their tuition fee.

I think being prepared is the most important part of being a sucessful instructor.being well prepared will eliminate mistakes
