SOP's

I am working on delivering SOP's as a class discussion without the powerpoint. When finished, I use the powerpoint in a rapid review method to make sure we covered everything. I have been mixing in some technical previews of the course material to get students interested in what the next three weeks will concentrate on. I am open to ideas from others who are delivering SOP's this way.

Hi Phil,
Great idea thanks for sharing it. This sure brings it home to the students because they are observing peers and relating it to the need to be professional in their careers. Talk about making it relevant this is it.

A fun way that I have found to do SOP's (standard operating procedures), is to have the students that have had previous classes on campus, bring up behaviors that they would consider to be unprofessional. They often cover every one of the SOP’s. It usually takes less time.

Just to add on to the great info here. i feel that the sop's are a great way to estabish a good foot hole for class room leadership.

sop very important get a hold on your class and sece the younger generation is all cd and think a great way to do sop

I agree with Rob.
It is always good to give the students something to look at while discussing the information. The students will tend to pay attention to the information when they have something they can visualize rather than just speaking at them. This turns into an instructor barking rules rather than giving guidelines.

Thanks, Rob, it's good to hear when PowerPoints, etc. are utilized as resources and guides as opposed to an overall, formatted teaching method.
