You make an excellent point. The core of instruction has to be the instructor. That person then can select the tools, like Power Point, to help with the delivery of content.

With all that can be done with a Power Point presentation it is a powerful delivery tool. We have to make sure that we don't use it too much to the point that it does not keep the interest of the students.

Instructors must be careful to avoid relying on just the presentation, they must master the material so they are able to explain the information fully and accurately. The PowerPoint should be an accessory to provide visual aides relevant to the material, and not be used as the cornerstone of the lecture.
