When I have clear, written plan, which includes a daily lesson plan and a checklist, I find we use our class time efficiently and we are able to cover all of the material scheduled to be addressed in that class session.
Preparation is everything.
Planning for a successful day the day before is a lot for conducive to learning espacially with hands on learning

You got that right. Too many instructors use this method with results that match their preparation time. Students know when an instructor has spent time in preparing for the class and they offer respect for that effort in return.
