Planning
i think that getting students planning well for exams and other tasks will help them become very successful in the future.
Hi Chris,
Great quote---good advice for us all.

A great instructor of mine once said, "If you fail to prepare - prepare for failure."
David,
I totally agree. The expected is meeting the learning objectives set forth from the start. Part of the real world experience requires adapting to new challenges and demonstrating flexibility.

Absolutely! Critical thinking is key to overcome the unexpected...and in the real world, the unexpected is occurs frequently.
I think we can instruct our students to plan for both expected and unexpected occurances. They need to be able to master the expected, while knowing how to adapt for the unexpected. Critical thinking is the objective.
