learning environment
When students have a comfortable environment, they seem to retain more of the subject matter.
Hi Gary,
Very impressive. You really help your students bring their A game to the table. Thank you for sharing their work with us.

Hi Gary,
Great way to draw out the creativity of your students by allowing them to feel comfortable and free from outside distractions by listening to music. I am sure you get some great examples of creativity from your students as a result of this method.
Gary
Very true, if they are not comfortable with their surroundings how will they get anything done other than worry.
Since I teach a design course I also encourage them to listen to music they like while being creative, this seems to make them more comfortable too AND open the right side of their brain for the creativity!
I agree, and also active involvement of students in their own learning is a major key to a very good learning environment.
Using the computer for art and design education is challenging because I have to compete for the students' attention. To break the pull of the machines, I often ask the students to leave their computers to engage in critique and discussion.
I would agree with that. If they feel uncomfortable they are less likely to be engaged in the class.
They retain more, get along with there peers and it's important to retention.
