Ask yourself this Question

The best way to obtain goals in your instructional procedure, is when you use a syllabus language before you start your objectives and presentation to the class

Hi Thomas,
Good approach. This way the students can see the value and relevancy of what they are about to study. Helps them to see how they can grow in their knowledge and skills.

A syllabus language? I'm not sure what this is, but I would guess that maybe you are suggesting having a particular tone from the beginning. For example, I am working on a program to infuse writing into non-English-class courses, using online social networking. So I would begin my syllabus by describing the usefulness and importance of online social networking to the plan of this particular class, how this approach to learning will enhance the education "product," and why the university is going in this direction.

The way I do this is to align my goals in the syllabus so that there is a connection for each activity.
