Classroom HVAC
Many schools have HVAC problems. This causes poor learning environments and in soom cases bad outcomes.
We have had "black stuff" come from our ducts each winter. It certainly give opportunity to better understand mechanical system complication and keep professional in responding to issue. Pat Johnston
Hi Sarah,
You are right about these types of experiences bringing the class together to conquer some external force, like excessive heat. People like to rally around something and when you have a common cause or issue it helps to bond the participants, even though it may be uncomfortable while it is happening.

This had been a problem for me in the past as a middle school teacher. It became necessary for me to bring in several fans when our a/c was broken. It was sort of a bonding experience for myself and my students to have to "tough it out" in the heat. :) It can definitely be a distraction for learning, that's for sure! Have you had this experience first hand?
