Many students prefer that lectures in the classroom, must be based on the text books ; therefore supporting the lectures with the text books clarifies what students must learn. New materials are always beneficial; however these materials must be clear and relevant .

At first sticking with the content of the text book was a little difficult, as i find myself drifting and exponding too much on a topic. With practice though, i was able to stay focus by writing my topics on the board.

Yes it will. The experience you are gaining will help you to be much more efficient in your delivery as well as planning. It is just like every other job you start. It is challenging at first and then you start to get control of what you are doing.
