My plan
I usually have a general plan for each course that I teach, however, the real plan is sealed once I have idea of the avearge competence level of the students in the course.
I usually use my plans for several times as from my point of view they contain the way I manage to meet the course requirements. What I always do is the changes to the existing plan in regads of the class i'm working with
Dr. K,
I do the same thing. I have a basic outline for each class that I alter based on the skill of the students that term.
I like to hand out a weekly class outline that covers the first couple of weeks, at least on the first day. Then during the 2nd week I hand out the rest of the weeks. This gives them an at hand view of the schedule without having to always view the portal and it helps keep me on schedule during each class and week. If I deviate from the schedule at all, I make notations on the outline and then I'll know how to do it differently next time I teach it.
Hi Barbara,
This is the plan I follow for my classes as well. This is a good point for new instructors to know as they plan their own instructional deliveries.
Gary
I like to hand out my objectives on the first day of class. Sometimes I do have to change them according to how fast or slow the class moves. I let the students know before they leave class for that day so there a no suprises for the next day.
