Being Proactive
When I find out about the next class that I will be teaching, I will make copies of all of syllabus and course relating materials far in advance so I can be well prepared.
I am all for proactivity. Being fairly new to teaching yet, I am learning most from the organizational tips and such. I find that I am always much more comfortable in front of a class when I have organized and prepped myself and materials at least a day or two ahead of time. Like you, when the new mod starts, I like to be prepped weeks in advance, if possible.
