Following The Course Syllabus
Every class I teach has its own syllabus. The syllabus details what will be covered and what the students should know by the end of the course. I follow the syllabus as is my job, but what are your thoughts about adding 'extras' to the course if you've covered everything and have extra time? I try to give a preview of the following course for those who haven't had it and a review for those who have had it already. This helps the student feel less anxiety about starting the next class, especially if it's a tough anatomy or pathology class.
Our syllabus is usually outdated which means adustments must be make to update the information given. There are students who will know if you giving outdated information.
I FOLLOW THE SYLLABUS EVERYDAY IN MY TEACHING . AND I TELL MY STUDENTS TO READ CAREFULLY WHAT THE ROLES AND THE REQUIREMENT OF THE SCHOOL
My co-workers and I 'adjust' the syllabus as needed in order to prepare our students for the work environment. That does not mean that omit anything in the syllabus, but it does allow us the flexibility to focus on the pertinent subjects.
