The learning environment should be like a professional work environment. Students should conduct themselves as they would in the work environment. This trains them to be professional when they get out into the workforce.

learning environment helps a lot in students learning

have to make sure it is based on what you are instucting

The learning environment plays a vital role in the instructional process. Comfortable temperature, good lighting, minimal distractions create an atmospher which promotes learning. A positive, enthusiastic presentation with concrete examples and probing questions engages the students.

The learning environment has a big effect on the studens. Students like very comfortable environment.

Hi Mohammed,
How to you see the elements of the learning environment contributing to the learning process? Thanks for your input on this.
Gary

Hi Timothy,
I teach in a similar setting with large classes so I know what you are saying. I think it is tough but I have no choice but to make each class informative and engaging for my students. Your approach is a good one because you are making the entire classroom yours, even the back rows. This helps to keep all students included in the learning process.
Gary

Learning environment is most important for instructional process.

It plays a large role. I try to keep an atmosphere that is light but engaging.

One of the challenges I face is that I'm teaching classes of around 100 students in classroom that is flat (not tiered like some classrooms). The students in the back just tend to get lost. To combat students feeling disengaged I try to move around the room and look students in the eye as I'm lecturing or asking questions.

Hi David,
Right you are about the environment. It needs to be supportive, comfortable and enjoyable.
Gary

A good learning environment aids the student's education by providing them the proper tools they need to learn and giving them an environment that offers a comfort level that enables them to ask questions without feeling dumb or inadequate.

It plays a powerful role of setting the tone for each student to perpar their mind to received the infomation.

I feel that it is very important that an instructor understands the learning environment from the student perspective. I teach on a street with high-end shops that are visible to students who sit near the window. Whenever I have a new classroom, I try to sit in different seats to see the board from their perspective and to try to notice anything that may be a distraction. The learning environment is also impacted by noise outside the classroom door, in other classrooms, etc.

I try to challenge my students by having them verbally answer questions targeted to them and having them explain their answer. This I think will help them in their careers as Respiratory Therapist when they are challanged by doctors and nurses about the therapy they are performing on patients. I also try to get them to work on case studies together as a group and present their interpretation of the case studies in front of the class.

The Learning Environment is very important the students success. The more confortable and attentive a student is the more opportunity for a better understanding.

I teach a course that help with that transition. Also in almost every class I teach we discuss soft skills and transferable skills. It is amazing how many students don't know what they are.

Hi Pamela,
They sure do. If they don't then the transition from school to the work world is going to be a tough one.
Gary

The learning environment plays the role as to how the student is going to react in the class. Will the student be comfortable to participate or be bored in lecture? To see something different bring on excitement.

Hi Gary,
I agree with you in giving case studies and problems for the students to work out on their own. They need to be more familiar with how the real world operates.

I agree learning has to have some fun involved wirh it to keep students coming back for more
