selecting supplemental material

I feel that nowadays the access to supplemental material through the internet gave a big push for the educational process, but one of the major problems I faced when I ask the students to make a presentation is their negligence of the proper resources to take from. usually they follow the first google link appears on the subject, it seem that the more credible resources are more difficult to browse than the commercial sites

Ehab I have also encountered the same problem. My class is currently working on a LRS assignment and one of their sources has to be electronic. Although an internet site is considered electronic I found that they are wanting to use wikipedia as their sole source for information. I encouraged my students to look at primary literature in journal databases that provide the information they are looking for but also require critical thinking to interpret the data presented.

Ehab,
I am finding this same situation with my students. I have developed a mini-unit on online searching to try and help them go beyond the first site they see and really delve into the topic and get comprehensive resources.
