My experience
In my experience I have found that being prepared before class makes the class session smoother for myself as well as my students. Reading all necessary materials helps you to be more confident when it comes to answering questions that students needs answers too.
Planning ahead has sure redeuced my stress levels especially with me being a new instructor
I agree with all of these. Being prepared does let class run smoother and let you feel more confident in answering the students questions. As you teach the same class over and over, the more comfortable you become with the material and anticipate the questions therefore you are able to answer majority of them during the lecture or class activities.
Lawrence,
You brought up a great point. I agree with you that being prepared does make the lecture run more smoothly. I know that if I feel comfortable with the information, I will be more confident. If I am thrown into a class lecture at the last minute, it can be difficult to answer the questions for the student.

I agree. I've found that being prepared for everything in life help make learning and change come easier to me. I've expressed this to my students numerous times. I'd get both good and bad comments about preparation.

Olmarys,
Nothing like experience to increase self confidence. You get to settle into how you are going to present the material and interact with your students. This helps you enjoy teaching even more.

I think the more you teach a class the more prepared you become. Being new to the teaching world, I didn't really know how to be prepared at first.
i agree with you

I agree with Dr. Meers. I have found that the student really get excited and it seems like we have more discussions in class.
Lawrence,
So true. Helps you to have a level of confidence that is required to focus on the learning needs of the students.
