Staying current
It would be difficult to prepare students without remaining current with employer expectations.
It is amazing that being out of the field for only a short period of time, makes you feel so behind the times. We get isolated in the teaching world. Getting out into your field is a must to reman an effective teacher.

Staying current in any filed is very helpful. Making sure that the students are equipped with the knowledge and skills need to succeed in their field of study is very important.
Staying current is vital in order to provide students with the most current expectations within the field. Informing students of most current activities within the field is also modeling the need for continued learning even when you may be defined as an expert in the field; learning never stops.
