Cohort groups
"By working with cohort groups instructors can develop instructional strategies that are tailored to the specific needs of the group members".
You're right Louis, and sometimes a student's own team members will apply more peer pressure to carry the load; it is so important, of course, for group members to make sure, with the help of the instructor, that desired outcomes, roles and responsibilities, ground rules and timelines are all clearly identified and effectively communicated.

When working with cohort groups the instructor has to be involved with each group and very aware of who in the groups are performing what tasks. In some cases these groups are formed with certain individuals who want to and do all the work while others just tag along for the ride. The instructor has to make sure that all students participate equally in the project.
