How should a class sessions be structured ?
Hi Theresa,
Good strategies of engaging all of your students at different points and levels. This gives each student the opportunity to use his/her learning preference to learn and grow in the course.

Also depends upon the length of the class and the composite of the students - I have classes of students ages 18 - 54 and all ethnic and cultural backgrounds - so I try to create universal sessions - some group sessions and some individual sessions where I can monitor the "chatter" and the progress. I also determine if they can be self directed (emotional maturity) and how creative they are (or if they are "stuck" and need some suggestions) I have them do assignments that involve online research and group discussion and then produce and present their findings to the class.
Hi Teresita,
It all depends on what you are teaching. Some subjects lend themselves to lecture formats others discussion sessions, while others are structured around learning groups. Let me know what you are teaching and I will be glad to give you some recommendations for structure.
