I do agree that getting students to see the possibilities will give them hope for the future.

The use of former graduates is a great way to inspire and motivate students. Having graduates tell their stories about when they were students and now as successful graduates engages current students at a higher level. Two categories of speakers really fire up students--former students and potential employers. Use them all you can.

Would it be a good idea to have one or two former graduates address the class for a few minutes? My objective is to help students see the vision of their future by listening to a former peer talk about success and how staying committed and focused helped them to succeed.

Good point. Students do need to have a vision of their future and how they can prepare themselves to be successful. Instructors help them to create a personal agenda that will enable them to keep progressing.
