Classroom Games
Fun in classroom is essential. My students have a hard time getting in to class games. Are there any games that the students will really like and learn from?
I like the idea of a Jeopardy game to learn terms and definitions. I haven't tried it yet, but I think I may add it to my lesson plans. Thanks.
Hi Latanya,
I have a Jeopardy game that I developed for my course and the results are the same as yours. The students really like playing this and they get very involved and competitive. A lot of learning occurs when we play this game.
Thanks for the ideas about how to bring variety to the classroom.

I had a student who made up a jeopardy game for delegation in nursing. The class really enjoyed this style of teaching the points about delegating. There are also disks which have word find puzzles, crossword puzzles, and scramble word games to reinforce certain concepts; vital signs, diabetes, etc.
Hi Pamela,
I like this game as well. It really helps with terminology as you mentioned. The use of the terms as well as the spelling reinforces their memories to the point that term retention really expands.

Hello, I have also played Hangman in the classroom and this game also became a hit, especially with medical terminology.
Jamie,
Since becoming a teacher there is one game that seems to get students to participate. That game is Jeopardy. This works really well for a review for a quiz, test or exam. It really seems to get their attention and if you add in teams and a few point of extra credit for the winners, almost everyone participates.
