Be prepared
Facing your student for the first time be sure you have all your tools ready ,so there's no interruption .
Melonie,
Great advice for beginning instructors. They need to take the time to become prepared because teaching is a challenge as it is and not being prepared is a set up for failure.

Wow! Yes, nothing like being unprepared....it's aweful. And the exact opposite is true. Being prepared is AWESOME! It's amazing what a difference it makes. When I organize, plan and communicate with staff, students ect., and then come prepared with goals and plan of implemenation in place (anticipating questions ect.,) EVERYONE benefits! (including me--feeling of a job well done--good relations). If I don't prepare, plan and communicate...it decreases the "smooth flow" of the day, decreases learning opportunities, decreases rapport and motivation of students ect., (and plethora of other problems could be introduced!)Being the Instructor/coordinator of a learning process means that how effectively I can deliver will affect the positive learning outcome.
Corliss,
Correct. A professional educator is prepared. If not, then that person is not really an educator but a person that is filling a space in the room. We need to project ourselves as being prepared and competent as we deliver our content.

Students expect instructors to be prepaired for class and when you are that help students to trust you as an instructor.
Gets everyone more relaxed and the students can see that the instructor is organized and overall provides an good learning enviroment for all students.
Hi Marcela,
Very important and critical for teaching success. By being organized and prepared you are ready to get the class moving forward toward the stated goals.
