what do you do as instructor if one of your students, shows racist remark against other student
At one facility I worked at a friend of a student made a racist remark in the parking lot and it ended up that the student got dropped from the program. She was an excellent student who I doubt would have made that type of remark herself. But I think it's a topic that needs to be addressed when going over policies, etc.

I immediately pull that student out of the class and have a one on one conversation with him/her. That type of behavior cannot be tolerated in the classroom and must be dealt with at once. The key is to be sure to check all the facts of the situation and make sure what was said is accurate so you don't get into a position of one person's word against another.
