true it is good to learn your students back ground growing up if they were not given positive feed back growing up then they tend to see positive reenforcement in a hole new light.
i was always taught to praise a good job in public and critizize in private as not to embaress them. if they never got praised before then it makes the desire to here it more offten.

I do tell my students that I am a student of life, no matter what experiences people have in there lifes you will always have a need to learn new and different things.

i agree its one of the reasons i became an instructor i have a hard time keeping up with the youg guys in the field now but teaching helps me to stay sharp in hvac
