why do students learn at different paces?
I have a few students that learn the material very quickly as apposed to some that just can not get it. Am I doing something wrong?
No you are not doing things wrong. I have found that with the different way people learn causes them to learn at a different pace. I would like to implement all ways of learning within my lectures hopefully things will put all on an equal learning field.
This is when I try to see if I can present a topic using a different learning style. Often times that will bring the group together, reinforcing the concept for those who already knew it, and getting it into the psych of those who struggled (usually with basic lecture)
Alicia,
Not at all. Each person receives and internalizes information in different ways. Also, we all have different abilities in how we acquire knowledge in certain fields, for example math. So keep doing what you are doing but see if you can provide some support to those that might need some extra support such as guided notes or graphic organizers.
