My favorite class

I've always really enjoyed the first day of a class, because of the opportunity it represents to engage with a new and unique student group. The preparation, to-do lists, meet and greet are all great, but it's the learning that I do that I think best sets up how the rest of the class will run.

It's a process of gauging student involvement, building rapport, perhaps challenging a few students who don't seem to be quite invested in the class--but also to challenge my own first impressions of students, almost like giving them a second chance at it.

Rose Anne,
As I am a hands on learner as well I can appreciate your comments and the enthusiasm your students have when they get to apply what they are being taught. These are great times of learning for everyone.

I have always liked hands on classes. I also think the students who will be taking care of clients like to do the hands on things also.

I also found that my hands on classes were more enjoyable.

I found my favorite classes were when we had hands on practice. All the students wanted to do things instead of listening to lectures. They felt that they were learning what they needed for their future jobs. I did enjoy these classes also.

Trevor,
I agree with you. I am starting a two new classes in two weeks and I am already excited about the students I will have and what we get to do in the course. Our job is a fun and never boring even on the worse days.
