Learning styles

Using multiple learning styles and “multiple intelligences” for learning is a relatively a great approach.

Hi Jennifer,
You are bringing balance to your presentations and demonstrations so you are really hitting the different learning preferences. By teaching a more "hands on" subject you have an added advantage of helping students to apply what they are learning while they are learning. Many classes are lecture, lecture, lecture and then finally application. This makes for a challenging time for both the students and the instructor.

It's hard to alter learning styles when you are teaching a hands on trade.
Though I try to make sure whoever needs the information and isn't getting it in one way to get it the other way.
I have the demos on DVD- and other visualazation charts- as well as the availablity to have people read students tests and stuf..

Be sure to know your audience. when you understand the way the students learn you can structure your delivery of the matieral to appease the entire class and make it interesting to all learners.

I feel that it is important to deliver touching lightly on all learning styles as we do not want to leave anyone behind.

I agree with that idea. In my classroom, I utilize visuals and hands on approaches to make the subject easier for everybody to learn.

I agree. We are all differant and we all learn a little bit differantly. As instructors, it is our job to satisfy each learning style. This can be a great challenge when you have intelectual learners, hands on learners, challenged learners and so on.Building a proper lesson plan will help reach every type of student learner while allowing the course to stay on track with direction and purpose.

true. different students-different styles.
