on offering positive feedback
I especially liked the information on offering positive feedback. We can easily focus on moving from group to group looking for things being done incorrectly and then demonstrate the proper method of doing something, basically, looking for things that are wrong. Now, I'll be sure to look for things that are right and then offer positive feedback on it.
I like saying right is right and wrong is wrong.
I have always had good responses when I tell my guys that the have done a perfect job. They will give each other hi fives and fist pumps,makes them feel real good.Then when the job was done real good,but not perfect I will tell them good job anyway,but not perfect, makes them go after perfect next time.Then of coarse we tell them what would have made that job perfect.
I agree, I often catch myself doing the same thing.
But what feels great is just before doing this module I was in class going from table to table helping students with some math problems and I was focusing on the positive and feeding off of that. You can tell the difference in there reply and attitude right away.
